The lodge is situated at the foot of Mahaqwa mountain in Bulwer, Kwazulu-Natal. The main landing field is a few hundred meters away and with a bit of experience you can also land on the lawn right on the front lawn.

The warm atmosphere at Wild Sky lodge is well known with the hand built log cabins giving it a really welcome feeling. The lodge has a communal kitchen that is fully equipped with a comfortable fireplace lounge and dining area. There is also a braai place outside.

The views from the lodge are fantastic, with the mountain on one side and the valley on the other. The accommodation we offer is rustic, but comfortable, and suitable for anyone from campers to families.

 

The area offers a vast choice of activities for family members and non-pilots. From paragliding, horse riding, river rafting, hiking & bird watching, mountain biking, fly fishing and much more.

Have a sundowner on the deck as you watch the last soaring of the day or go for a walk in the beautiful Marutswa forest. Make use of the excellent bird guide, Simphiwe Damakude, as he will point out all the special birds and plants an untrained eye might miss.

Backpackers: R100pp

The backpackers upstairs at the lodge consists of ten single beds two of which are in a seperate room for a bit more privacy. It is comfortable and clean. Bedding is provided, but in winter we recommend bringing some extra blankies as it gets pretty chilly at night.

The two small cabins have electricity. They are equipped with bedding. The ablutions are shared.

The en-suite cabin consists of two bedrooms with an adjoining bathroom, with shower, basin and toilet. The en-suite has a double bed in one room and two singles (can be made three) in the other room. There is a deck with table and chairs. It is perfect for a family. The en-suite cabin also has use of the communal kitchen and social area at the lodge

Dinner: Subject to booking and availability. Dinner is normally a shared meal for everyone. Price depends on the meal. E.g pizza night R40pp, braai R60pp.
